8 Tips for Travelling and Taking Care of Your Skin
Sorry for the delayed absence, we've all been off travelling this month! So this is the perfect collection of my top tips on loving your skin while on Hols.
I went up North for the weekend with only a large shoulder bag, via the budget-friendly Easyjet. This raised the question, how do I pack my hoard of skincare/make up while keeping to the restrictions. And are there tips for looking after my skin during travel.

General Guidelines
So the general guidelines for liquids at British (and most
European airports) is below.
Liquids in hand baggage
· Each
liquid you carry must be in its own container of no more than 100ml (3.4
ounces).
· All
liquids should be carried in a single, transparent, re-sealable plastic bag of
up to 20cm x 20cm (8in x 8in) with a total capacity of up to a litre
(approximately one quart). This includes mascaras, liquid foundations,
gloss and fragrances.
· Solids
are safe, so lipsticks and pressed powders get a free pass.
· You
must be able to completely close the bag and be able to fit it in your hand
baggage.
· The
bag of liquids must be taken out of other hand baggage to be screened
separately.
· In
the UK and EU, the tasting or testing of liquids, aerosols or gels on the skin
will no longer be a recognised method of screening. These items will now be
screened using special equipment. You may be required to open the items.
Top 8 Travelling Tips
1. Be
Efficient.
Don’t take everything and the kitchen sink with you! Top tip here is to list out your essentials, then go back over that list and see what can play double duty and what can be left at home for the week.

2. Make
Up
Flying with make up on is a big no. Micellar water decanted out onto some cotton pads are perfect for a quick facial cleanse before you board, or while flying. If the thought of being in public with no make up horrifies you, some light bb cream or the popular cushions which provide light coverage is an alternative.

3. Moisturise.
Liberally apply moisturiser, eye cream and lip balm to prevent dehydration. On longer haul flights this step should be repeated as often as necessary. Keep your skin happy by spritzing frequently. I’ve decanted some of my Etude House Toner into a spritz bottle, but any moisturising toner would do. Micellar water decanted could also be a good idea!

4. Drink
Water.

5. Mini
Facial
Pop on a face mask. A speedy facial in a pack is how I’ve seen this described. You might want to leave the fun animal masks at home, and just freak out your fellow passenger with your best ghost impression. There are plenty of facial masks in tube form as well, if you’re not daring enough to go full Asian sheet mask in public.

6. Hair
Care
Hair frizz is a perennial nightmare and inevitability after flying. Pack some hair oil and run through your tresses to tame the frizz. I decanted some of my favourite Aussie hair spray into a travel friendly container to spritz at the end of the flight.

7. Dealing
with Unwanted Oil
Blot away the oil with some blotting papers. These are life savers for my fellow oily skinned people. Powders such as the Innis free no sebum powder can also help keep your face matte and away from being an oil slick.

8. Eyes
Eye drops are also recommended to brighten up tired red eyes. Focusing on those tiny screens, or even the intermittent dozing in the dry environment leads to tired eyes. A couple of eye drops helps perk them back up. I myself prefer eye spray as its less hassle and I’m less likely to flinch and blink.
